Day #753 (Thu., Jan. 26, 2012) – The Toilet Paper Roll

Looks like today promises to be a rather sunny day so I decided that I would give the baby doll crib another touch up of yellow paint to see if it has stopped seeping through to the wood. once I get this issue resolved I will be ready to put on the finishing touches.

I called my wife around 5:30pm this evening to tell her that I was heading for home. She said that we might need to go for a drive when I get home…Katie is in one of her fussy moods. When I arrived home it was after 6pm so we figured that we would just wait a bit longer and Katie would go to bed for the evening. Here’s to wishful thinking…

This evening Katie decided that she would examine all the sheets in a toilet paper roll. She ripped them off one by one til there was a little pile of toilet paper sheets on our bed. Let’s hope that she got this out of her system and will not do the same with every roll of toilet paper that she encounters.

Later in the evening we discovered why Katie was fussy. She had a nice #2 and she started to calm down after that. “Ah what a relief it is”…

Day #752 (Wed., Jan. 25, 2012) – Pen Working … Pen Not Working

The weather has been so bad as of late work on the baby doll crib has taken a back burner. I need sunny weather so that I can paint it outside and let the sun dry it. Who wants to have paint fumes indoors.
Katie was so excited that Ramona took her to the park today.

Katie took two of her sleeping sacks and gave one to Ramona and said “One for you” and then gave one to my wife and said “One for you.

Katie was playing with a pen this evening and figured out that by pushing the button on the top the pen would write and by pushing it again the pen would not write. Quite the trick.

Day #751 (Tue., Jan. 24, 2012) – The Stripper In Our Midst

Ramona took Katie dancing this morning. She thinks that Katie doesn’t understand that Miss Judy is a teacher and she is supposed to follow her. Whenever Miss Judy brings out a box of toys (or whatever) Katie runs up and wants to take them all.

Katie had a long three hour nap this afternoon but it looks like she has gotten over the flu or cold or whatever she had. She would tell Ramona “My mouth hurts” and point to her teeth so we think she is teething badly.

Katie is back into the measuring tape this evening. She loves how you can put it out of its casing and it will snap back inside. She also brought her rocking horse from the living room to the bedroom so she could sit on it and watch “The Backyardigans”.

Well it has finally happened. My wife has been telling me for quite a while how kids, at some point, like to take their clothes off and run around…and this evening Katie decided that she would give it a try. She took off all her clothes…even her diaper…and ran around the house with reckless abandon. Boy she looked like she was having fun dancing around. Off are the shackles of the constraints of daily life. No job…no responsibilities…no cares…no worries… “FREEDOM”.

Day #750 (Mon., Jan. 23, 2012) – The Red Crayon Book

I’m starting to come down with something…hope it’s not what Katie has. I really can’t afford to have to take time off work.

Ramona is back to work today. She had to run some errands so it wasn’t a total 8 hour day so my wife tended to Katie for a bit of the day. Katie seems much better again today…go figure.

On the way home today I stopped off at Target. There was this “Crayon Book” that I picked up for Katie. Only cost me a $1, but it had a picture of a big red crayon on the front of the book and everything inside it was red in color. Strawberries, fire engine, red shoes, the inside of a watermelon, etc…

Katie has gotten into the habit of running out of the bedroom and getting either my wife or I with a “Come See” phrase. Generally speaking this means that the cartoon she is watching in the bedroom has reached its end and needs to be rewound via remote.
