Little Katie had a very long and tiring evening of keeping her parents up. She was very successful at that, but I think it has worn her out. She slept for 7.5 hours last night, and after a quick feeding she is back in bed again. Probably around 5pm this evening she will be up for another exciting night of fun and adventure!
7pm – I’ve been reading the “Touch and Feel Baby Animals” book to little Katie and this is the first real time she payed attention. Usually she looks for the eyes of the closest person and “stares them down”. This time she seems to really be interested in the pages in front of her. In this particular book she can “touch” the simulated skin of the animal that appears before her. I touched her hand to the material, but I don’t think she caught on as to what was happening.
I thought I would write a few words about how the idea for this blog came about. When my wife was pregnant we went to see the movie “Julie & Julia”, a cute story about a woman who tries to make one recipe per day out of Julia Child’s famous French cookbook. I thought this was a novel concept…how I could do something like that? While the thought of making a dish of rich French cuisine each day was very inviting…it did have other drawbacks. So, why not implement the idea of creating a blog about our new daughter starting at Day #1 of her life and proceeding onward? This is how the idea for this blog came about…and here we are, Day #52 and counting…
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
