Day #1336 (Sat., Aug. 31, 2013) – School Work

When I woke up this morning my wife was making biscuits. It’s always a good idea to have biscuits around the house as sometimes Katie will eat nothing else.

At 8:30am I arrived at Katie’s school for work duty. We need to put in 3 hours of work each school year or pay $90. I started off weeding but then ended up raking mulsh. After about two hours they let us go. I will have to make up the other hour via some other activity.

Katie was watching a television show this afternoon in which they were eating pizza. When she asked me for a pizza I said I could make her a “Cheese Quesadilla Pizza”. A whole grain tortilla on the grill folded over with some cheese in the middle. She loved it.

2013-08-31 - Firetruck BirthdayThis afternoon my wife took Katie to Jack’s birthday party. Jack was one of Katie’s classmates and the only classmate he wanted at his party. The party had a “Firetruck” theme (see photo to the left) and instead of a cake they had muffins. I guess Katie asked the firetruck man a lot of questions.

We ordered a “real” pizza for dinner this evening. Always a hit with Katie.

I mentioned to Katie that I used to watch Batman when I was young and soon we were watching reruns of the 1960’s Batman television show on YouTube.
