3:01am and I am up. My schedule is so messed up these days I don’t know when to sleep and when to be awake. Noises coming from the nursery sound like we are being invaded by Orca the Whale. I took the baby monitor with me out to the living room. In this way I can hear little Katie if she happens to start screaming and my wife can get a deeper sleep.
10:19am – Little Katie is in the Rainforest Jumperoo but is starting to fuss. Time for a little “Tummy Time” in the playyard.
10:28am – I was meaning to do some “Tummy Time” but little Katie is fascinated with this “plush bug” that is hovering over her on the playmat. “Tummy Time” can wait for now.
Pictured to the right are our assortment of teething rings. We put them in the refrigerator and little Katie will munch on them when her teeth hurt. We need to make sure that we have a cool one on hand at all times.
I figured out that I need to find things that I can do in front of little Katie. As I do them I can tell her what I am doing and she thinks that we are playing a game. In this way she is entertained, learns a bit about paperwork and such, and I get things done as well.
We put a “Do Not Disturb” sign on the nursery this afternoon. If little Katie is distracted while she is being fed she will not eat afterwords.
I took little Katie for a stroller ride around the lake this afternoon. Our neighbor saw her and said what a pretty girl. A lot of people seem to make that comment.
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
————————————
1) Little Katie sounds like Orca the Whale sometimes.
