I’m off work today. Time to stay home and do some work around the house and play with the kid.
I had to do a diaper run to Target today. My mother-in-law came along for the ride. 3 boxes of #3 diapers and 2 large containers of baby washing detergent should last for a while…
I was playing with little Katie this afternoon and my mother-in-law brought me a bowl of ice cream. Little Katie nudged closer to me with that “I want some” look in her eye. I thought I would trick her and give her a couple of spoonfuls of avocado “mush”…but she was not having anything to do with it. Is it possible that she is smart enough to know that what she is getting is not as tasty as what I’m having???
I ended up doing a bit of a puppet show for little Katie. She loved my rendition of the flying cow, and the squeaking monkey is always a hit. A bit of the “pull the cow out of the hat” routine (see photo to the left) and the show was over…
I did another Skype session with my mother today. She was amazed at how big little Katie is growing. It was kind of hard for her to get a focus on little Katie as she spent most of the session jumping up and down in her Jumperoo.
We all had some watermelon this evening, and once little Katie saw it she went crazy. She was in the Jumperoo and raced towards me to see what I had. She wanted me to give it to her, but I relented. My wife said that I could give her some juice on a baby spoon, so I did. She downed that and came back for another one. Such was little Katie’s first taste of watermelon.
