Day #2813 (Mon., Sep. 18, 2017) – Knee Replacement Surgery Is A “Go”

2017-09-18 - PreschoolMy wife and I both took Bobby to school this morning. The photo to the left shows him finding his picture on the wall at the entrance to his classroom. The goal is for them to find their picture and move it to the bottom portion of the wall when they are in attendance for that day.

I will be taking him to school by myself on Wednesday so at least now I know the ropes. We had to wrestle the police car and ambulance out of his hands so he was not too happy when we dropped him off. My wife told Cindy that the two cars were in his backpack if she needed them. As we were leaving we saw her get them out and give them to Bobby. They are like his security blanket, and you are allowed to have security blankets for the first short while at preschool.

After dropping Bobby off we drove to UNC to see the knee surgeon. He basically said that since I had “bone on bone” in my left knee and one bone had actually bore a hole in the other bone, there was no option but to do knee surgery.

They had some sort of cheese pizza at school today and Katie loved that. Tomorrow is some sort of a taco dish. Katie is not too thrilled so my wife will be packing her a lunch.

This evening I returned the car seat that I picked up at Walmart last Wednesday. My wife got a better one via Amazon. While at Walmart I was looking for a tiny Hot Wheels car to fit on Bobby’s “Lightning McQueen” race track. They didn’t have any but they did have a great drill set (see photo to the right). Bobby has been making a “drill” out of anything that even resembles a drill. Wait till he gets his hands on this. I didn’t get home till after 10 pm so we decided to give it to him on another day.
