Day #2976 (Wed., Feb. 28, 2018) – Installing Three Doorknobs
I took Katie and Helen to Glenwood this morning. The students/teachers have names for the various days, like “Taco Tuesday” and “Wacky Friday”. We decided to give them animal names, like “Wildebeast Wednesday” and “Turkey Thursday”. This extended to the months of the year, like “Monkey March” and “Snake September”.
When I got home from work this evening my wife had me install the three locking door knobs onto the 2nd bedroom, Katie’s bedroom, and the hallway (see photo to the left). This will slow Bobby down as he is quick as a rabbit from the living room to Katie’s room when my wife is trying to go over her piano lessons in the evening. It will also keep Bobby out when my wife is trying to work, and provide a santuary for Katie’s stuff as well.
I made sure that Katie knows not to open the locked door when Bobby is around. He is constantly looking to learn new things, and once he figures out how to get into one locked door we might as well as kick this solution for every room “good-bye”.
My wife said that Katie was a big help today in getting the gift bags ready for Bobby’s birthday in a little over a week from now.
