Day #4771 (Sat., Jan. 28, 2023) – Great Hiding Place!

I went to get groceries at Harris-Teeter this afternoon.  Got in the Camry and started it up no problem!  I had a piece of duct tape over the light switch so that the lights would go on when I started the car and would go out when I shut off the engine and opened the driver’s side door.  It has worked for years, but failed last night for some reason.  I think I have a new solution.  I will put a laminated card over the driver’s side door latch that says “Lights On”.  In order to open the door I need to push this card out of the way, so “hopefully” it will trigger me to shut off the lights.  We’ll see…

While at Harris-Teeter I picked up a dozen donuts for the kids.  A reward for Bobby getting 98% on his math test the other day, and Katie getting 100% on her theater exam.  Good kids…  Smart too…

Later this afternoon Katie, Bobby, and I played some “Hide & Seek”, one of his most favorite games.  He has a new hiding area that I helped him create (see photo to the left).  The cabinet in the hallway where we keep the towels (when Bobby is not hiding there).  Kate found a great hiding space as well, behind the floor mats near the drums.

I made the kids some hot chocolate with chocolate stirring spoons.  They enjoyed munching on their donuts while they drank away.

My wife examined Katie’s report card a bit further and she is reading at the College level now.

Bobby and I watched a bit of a Leonardo da Vinci documentary on the television in the living room.  He already knew some stuff about de Vinci and it held his attention for quite a while.  Not to the end mind you, but for quite a while.
