Day #4773 (Mon., Jan. 30, 2023) – Posting Katie!

The photo to the left shows the “Lights On” sign that I put over the door handle on the drive’s side of the Camry.  It helps me to remember to shut the lights off before I exit the vehicle.  It’s working!

We got an email from Bobby’s teacher this morning indicating how he is being disruptive in class.  We are going to have a Zoom call with her to discuss the matter further.

When I picked up Bobby this afternoon I started with the regular “small chat” of what did he have for lunch and any news and gradually worked into the conversation of how class is and if he is disruptive or not.  He told me that he fidgets a lot because it is boring.  He also admitted that he perhaps is a bit disruptive as he likes to have “people laugh”.  He likes the “magical puzzle” thing that they do in the morning, but not when they give out instructions on things like “how to walk during class”.  This conversation gradually morphed into what sort of activities he likes to do.  We talked about gymnastics, karate, and hockey, but his face lit up when I mentioned Spence’s Farm!  He really wants to go again!

We decided to sign up Bobby for one day a week at Spence’s Farm’s after school program.  They have a van leaving from Glenwood, so they will pick him up (with his classmate Lucia) on Tuesday’s (which is tomorrow).  I will pick him up three hours later.  It’s $175 for a month, so very reasonable given that they entertain him for three hours!  So this equates to $175/4 = $43.75 per week and $43.75/3 = $14.58 per hour.  They are making a pretty nice “chunk of change” when you look at it…

Later this afternoon I took Katie and Bobby to horse riding lessons.  Katie is learning to “post”, which is basically bouncing up on the saddle as the horse trots.  Bobby was on Tonto again today.

The teacher in Katie’s social studies class was unable to finish the material she needed to today as the kids were so disruptive.  As a result, she assigned the kids homework to finish off the material.  Katie was not happy.  Why can’t they control these kids?
