Day #4861 (Fri., Apr. 28, 2023) – A&E Intervention

Katie is still home sick today.  I drove Bobby to Glenwood and it was raining “cats & dogs”.  Reminded us of Vancouver Island.

Katie really doesn’t want to go to Carowinds, the amusement park just outside of Charlotte.  It was supposed to be a reward for the orchestra, but since she doesn’t want to go, it’s not much of a reward.  So, my wife, who was to chaperone, and her, will stay home, and this will save us $200.

I was telling Katie about the “Intervention” show on A&E, and how they used to intervene into family’s lives that were out of control, with issues like drug or alcohol problems.  Low and behold, the last season is on Netflix, so we watched an episode where this young mother is addicted to crack cocaine.  Sobering…

I drove to Spence’s Farm this evening to pick Bobby up.  When I arrived he was playing the card game “War” with Ray, one of the farm hands.

On the drive home Bobby told me that he had a grilled ham and cheese for lunch today.  I might pick up some ham at Aldi and see if this is another meal we can make Bobby.

Bobby also asked me about the industrial arts class I took in middle school.  I told him about the wooden bowl that I made on the lathe (see photo to the left).  I showed it to him when I got home.

My wife and Katie and I got talking about AI and how it is hard to get your head wrapped around how it will influence our lives.  This lead us to a YouTube video about the Today Show back in 1994 when Bryant Gumball and Katie Couric were trying to wrap their heads about this new thing called the internet.
