Day #379 (Mon., Jan. 17, 2011) – BB&B (Buttons, Books & Balls)
It seems that Katie shows little interest in blocks, at least when it comes to putting them on top of each other and building things. She does show a fascination with tearing down what already exists though. It seems that she has three loves these days…BB&B…
1) Buttons – anything that can be pressed and will make a noise in return.
2) Books – she loves to read and point at the pictures and say “Ta” (which means “What’s That” we think).
3) Balls – Katie is showing a lot of interest in her “Dora the Explorer” ball (see photo to the leftt) these days. I’m not sure why….perhaps it is because it is soft, or because it rolls. After I throw it to one end of the playyard she loves to grab on it and munch on it.
After I went to bed this evening my wife sent me the following timeline of Katie’s activities:
4:50 pm – Katie gets up => I expect her to go to bed between 8 pm and 9 pm
11:00 pm all attempts to put Katie to bed failed => I let her play in the play-yard – plays alone happily
11:35 pm – another attempt to put Katie to bed after changing a serious #2 diaper
11:59 pm – finally!!!
