Day #392 (Sun., Jan. 30, 2011) – Bye Bye Size #3…
My wife tells me that Katie is finishing off her last box of #3 diapers today. She will be wearing #4 size diapers (starting at 22 lbs.) from now on.
12:46pm – Katie is sleeping right now, so I’m taking the time to update this blog. You have to adjust your life around her schedule…so you need to maximize the time you have when she is asleep.
The photo to the left shows another toy that we bought at the consignment sale at the fairgrounds last week. You put the balls in the top of it and gravity pulls them to the bottom where the little engine shoots them up to the top again. It’s quite fascinating, but we need new batteries and a few more balls in order for it to be even more effective.
I took Katie out for a stroll this afternoon. She is getting very talkative these days. Here’s how the conversation goes:
Katie: “Ta”
Daddy: “That’s a tree”
Katie: “Ta”
Daddy: “That’s a tree”
Katie: “Ta”
Daddy: “That’s the sky”
Katie: “Ta”
Daddy: “That’s another tree”
Stimulating conversation don’t you think?
This afternoon we cleaned up the patio area. It’s 17 degrees Celsius outside…springtime weather. Moved the sharp metal objects over past the railing, swept the leaves away, and Katie has a new play area when the weather is good.
I was playing with Katie in the playyard this afternoon and she started to throw the balls that came with this toy around the playyard. It seems that she has started to develop all kinds of skills all of a sudden.
Katie will often sit in her high chair and point at something and say “ta”. It’s hard to figure out exactly what she is pointing at, or what she wants, and if you don’t figure it out she yells louder and louder. Her high pitched screams are actually starting to hurt our ears.
9:52pm – We tried to put Katie to bed but she was having nothing to do with it. She is in her high chair now having a bit to eat before we have one more try. For some reason she has a case of the giggles. She is laughing and laughing at “who knows what”…
