4:30am – Little Katie is chirping away and daddy is entering a new phase of “internal clock” adjustment. I’m not sure if my body thinks it’s night or day, or just how much sleep it thinks it needs. All I know is that I can’t sleep, and my body is acting accordingly. Suffice it to say that our lives no long revolve around EST (“Eastern Standard Time”) or DST (“Daylight Savings Time”), but KCT…”Katie’s Crying Time”. KCT is what determines when we are up and when we go to bed. They say that after 6 weeks babies start to have less REM time…so their sleep is much deeper and they sleep better. What does this mean? 3 down…3 to go…
Little Katie had another stroll around the lake near our house today. There are ducks and geese that she will love once she gets older. It will fun to see the interaction. She’s starting to open her eyes more and smile more…so we know that she is becoming more acquainted with this new world she finds herself in.
Check out the picture on the left. It shows the stroller and the bridge over the lake. We were also fortunate enough to get some of the mallard ducks in the photo.
We just love this stroller. It was given to us by our good friends who live in a nearby city and it has really come in handy. It has nice “dual wheels”, so it can easily navigate the rocky terrain on the paths near the lake.
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
————————————
1) I found that if I “jiggle” the stroller the bouncy movement seems to quiet little Katie down. In a similar fashion, when we crossed the bridge on the lake the rough boards made a bouncy movement that stopped her from crying. What did I do? You bet…I took advantage of it and went over the bridge a second time.
