Day #5444 – (Sun., Dec. 1, 2024) – Fire!
There were fire trucks at our neighbor’s house this morning! It looks like the house with the lion’s out front had a chimney fire?
Today is Day #1 of this years Advent Calendars for the kids. I took them, along with all the other wrapping paper, to the main house this morning. Along with chocolates and other various small items for Day #1, Bobby got a $25 Roblox card and Katie got a $25 Starbucks card. This was the smallest amount that Walmart had on their cards. I thought it would be nice for them to receive an actual card this year rather than a little note.
All of the Christmas cookies that my wife set aside for the family are gone today. None of the kids will fess up, so we are thinking that Maple ate them. There was one stray cookie that my wife gave me, and judging by how quickly Maple got her face in front of me to sample this one, I suspect she did eat them!
Katie is thinking of contacting Caroline, our neighbor, and telling her that she wants to try and help out in the horse stables. I think it’s a good idea to try. She won’t know unless she tries. The key is to be open and honest with Caroline and let her know what you think. Set expectations. I’m sure that Caroline will be so excited that Katie is talking to her open and honest like an adult. She might think that she offended Katie and this is why she has not contacted her for so long…
