Day #5541 – (Sat., Mar. 8, 2025) – Skiing Lessons Today!
My wife took the kids skiing this morning. She was able to get a nice corner seat in the lodge (see photo to the right) while she waited for them to finish their skiing lessons.
There was a bit of drama on the ride up to the lodge. With about 3 pm left up the hill, a car in front of the van stopped for a while so they had to wait for it to go again and then go from a dead start up the hill, with zero luck. My wife got out and managed to put the chain on the right tire. She didn’t dare try to put a chain on the left tire given the fact she would have had to be in the middle of the road. Once she got to the lodge she did put the chain on the left tire for the return trip.
The therapist yesterday gave Katie some coping strategies for skiing today. After a while her foot hurt, and Bobby was ready to go as well, so they came home. A couple of hours, but not a full days skiing.
Katie was telling me that her instructor is worrying her as when she asked him to take a break he said “You can’t take a break every five minutes”, despite the fact that this was the first break she had asked for today. He was pretty nice after this though, and Katie went on the lift for the first time today. I guess it was pretty steep/foggy, but she made it…
