Day #5542 – (Sun., Mar. 9, 2025) – New Volleyball!

My wife took Katie to see the Comox Valley orchestra this afternoon. After it Katie was wondering if she wanted to join or not. For starters, it was two hours long. She also saw a girl there who goes to Vanier and wondered if she would be good enough. It would be nice if Katie would go up to her and tell her how lovely she played. They might become “besties”, but I’m doubtful Katie will do that… I know that the girl in orchestra would be elated to have someone come up and say how wonderful they played.

On the drive back they saw a group of kids walking on our street. It was all of Brodie’s family and Dominic and Connor as well. They asked about Bobby and he went outside to play with them.

Katie and Bobby played a bit of volleyball this afternoon (see photo to the right). The volleyball net is set up in one of our pastures that the donkeys used to roam in…

We have a new volleyball now, but Katie is saying that it is still too hard. I told her that her hands, wrists, and fingers will develop over time to the point where she doesn’t even realize how hard it is. I suggested that she and Bobby get about six feet apart from each other with the net between them and volley back and forth and see how long they can keep it up. There are even YouTube videos out there with little volleyball drills that you can do by yourself. Just like Tiger Woods used to do, don’t stress out, find the enjoyment of it, and build it up little by little over time… That’s the way to achieve greatness!

Bobby’s birthday is in two days and we are thinking of getting him an experience as opposed to an object. We are considering a “Play-At-Home Clue Solving Adventure – Save the Titanic” app.

Before nodding off to sleep this evening Bobby said that he would like to continue skiing after lessons are over. I’m not sure if Katie would echo these sentiments…

Katie was dancing around the house this evening. She says that she misses dance class. At Vanier their gym unit is dance now. She is choreographing and performing a dance with two other girls.
