I sold all the mutual funds in my ScotiaITrade account on Friday, but it still hasn’t settled, so I called them up. Apparently they sold today and I will see the money in my account tomorrow. I can then use these funds to buy more NVDA or “whatever”… Incidentally, the market right now at 3:03 pm EST is down —> DOW -1,159 points!
I was napping this afternoon when my wife and Katie woke me up. They just got back from the vet and Batman needs emergency gallbladder surgery in Victoria. So, after a quick backpack grab and filling up at Costco, we were off… Katie was riding “shotgun” and sick ole’ Batman was in the crate in the back of the 2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid!
Katie and I stopped off for a bathroom break at the gas station off the highway at Qualicum Beach.

We arrived at the WAVE Veterinarian Surgical Hospital in Langford way after the sun went down. While we were checking Batman in I talked to a man on the couch next to me who brought his dog in as it has just eaten a grape.
Next up was our accommodation in Victoria. We stayed in at “time share” in the Wyndham Hotel at 120 Kingston Street (see photo to the right). Even with it being total darkness I could tell that it had a great view of the harbor! Outside our door, and one level below, is the weight room. Katie got the large room with the adjoining bathroom. I got the smaller room with the bathroom just down the hall.
We were hungry so we decided to go to McDonalds! The one at 980 Pandora Avenue is open 24 hours, so we went there. The Nigerian lady who waited on us was not very friendly, and there were a lot of homeless around. Certainly not the best neighborhood, but it didn’t seem to be dangerous.
