Day #5562 – (Sat., Mar. 29, 2025) – Bye Vancouver!

I wrapped up Batman’s “blue pill” in an extra large section of chicken skin this morning thinking that this would prevent it from spurting out. Well, not to be… He chewed and chewed on that skin and then all of a sudden out of his mouth popped the blue pill. The result was that I had to use the brute forth method of “open the hatch and shove it in”… He’s getting pretty used to the routine now so at least he knows what’s coming. He likes the aftermath where I lie down on the bed with him and scratch his back. He will purr and purr.

In Vancouver, my wife and kids had to leave their AirB&B by 10 am as the ferry to Nanaimo was at 11 am. Good bye to this AirB&B which I guess was not very good. For starters, the dishwasher didn’t work. Oh, and the pillows were very cheap and so think that my wife had to go and get them to give them a couple more.

It was a rather rainy crossing from Vancouver to Nanaimo (see photo to the right). They arrived back in Courtenay about 2:15 pm. Maple and I were out throwing the ball around when they arrived and Maple went nuts! After that Bobby went nuts as he was extremely happy to see Maple. Katie was really eager to see Batman, but when Batman gave her the “cold shoulder”, she started to cry. My wife relayed to her how her cat Chipas used to be very upset with her when she left as well.

Katie is very sick today and almost threw up on the ferry. Katie, her mom, and I watched some YouTube videos on the television in the main house about the lyre bird and other fascinating animals.

Bobby was very happy to be back home with his VR headset and to sleep in his ole’ bed!
