Day #5567 – (Thu., Apr. 3, 2025) – Plant Cell Homework

Both kids are well and went to school today! Yippee!

Katie and Bobby did their viola/violin lessons online this evening. Katie is planning on hanging out with Annika, Madeline, and another girl this Sunday.

The photo to the right shows the “Plant Cell” homework that Katie also did this evening. She went out to relax on the swing afterward.

Bobby played soccer with his classmates during recess both yesterday and today. He has been hanging out with Connor, Dominic’s brother, and a first grader during recess, so it’s nice that he is back to hanging out with people his own age. I guess that while Bobby was in Vancouver last week Connor and Dominic played a lot with Brodie and his brothers, so Connor is following Brodie around now and leaving Bobby alone… 🙂

Yesterday was “Liberation Day” according to Trump. At 4 pm, after the markets closed, he announced his tariffs on practically the whole world. Today was REACTION DAY, and boy did the markets react to “Liberation Day”. The DOW ended at 1,581 points, which is a decline of 3.8%, closing at 40,634. There has not been a one day decline this steep since the days of COVID. There was an attempt at a rally towards the end of the day, but no buyers, which means the markets will more likely than not, be down again tomorrow. The President said this: “The operation is over! The patient lived, and is healing.” He expressed optimism, stating that the economy would emerge “far stronger, bigger, better, and more resilient than ever before” following the implementation of his new tariffs.
