Day #5568 – (Fri., Apr. 4, 2025) – Artificial Vegetative Propagation

Both kids went to school today. I learned that all 4th grade classes are going to Camp Bob for a day in early June.

Katie showed her work to her English teacher today and she was super impressed. She said that the work she did was better than she has seen from 10th graders. She came back to Katie after class and told her yet again that it was great work.

The photo to the right shows her homework on “Artificial Vegetative Propagation”.

My wife hears that there are lice everywhere in elementary schools. I remember when I was in school the health nurse going up and down the class and checking our heads for lice.

Katie and I had Daddy/Daughter Day #155 today. We went for a drive around town and talked about school and such. We stopped off at McDonalds where I picked up a small coffee with two cream and two sugar. Katie had the “Two Cheeseburger EVM”.

Here’s what Copilot said about the markets today:

It was a brutal day for the U.S. stock market, with major indices suffering their worst losses since 2020. Here’s a recap:

  • Dow Jones Industrial Average: Plunged 2,200 points (-5.5%), marking one of its worst days in history.
  • S&P 500: Dropped 6%, wiping out over $2.5 trillion in market value.
  • Nasdaq Composite: Fell 5.8%, officially entering bear market territory (down more than 20% from its recent high).
  • Nvidia (NVDA): Slid 7.4%, as concerns over tariffs and supply chain disruptions hit semiconductor stocks hard.
  • Tesla (TSLA): Sank 10.4%, as weak Q1 deliveries and broader market turmoil weighed on the stock.

The selloff was triggered by President Trump’s newly announced sweeping tariffs, which rattled investors and raised fears of a global trade war. China retaliated with its own tariffs, further escalating tensions.
