I got my voter ballot in the mail today for the upcoming Canadian election.
My wife found one of Batman’s little blue antibiotic pills on the sheets on Katie’s bed. Man oh man…the effort I went through to make sure that Batman took this pill while the family was in Vancouver on vacation. He’s such a trickster…kept trying to spit them out. You can see him relaxing in the sun on his newly reassembled cat tree in the photo to the right.
My wife got her knee ultrasound appointment for two weeks. She waited five months for this!
Katie didn’t want to go to PE this afternoon so her mother picked her up. I picked up Bobby at Huband. Bobby’s black “water-proof-ish” sneakers are almost gone with rips everywhere so he wore the new ones that his mother bought for him to school.
Katie had a long viola practice today. Bobby played with Ethan quite a bit when he got home from school. Later in the day Katie and Bobby played tennis and volleyball. Katie showed Bobby how to actually hit the volleyball.

My wife had me pick up some lawn fertilizer + moss destroyer at Shar-Kare today (see photo to the left). We’ll start off with one bag, which the guy at the counter seemed to indicate would be plenty.
I have been leaving the gate open for the chickens to roam around freely during the day. Lately I see them come to the car when I get home. They realize that I’m the one who feeds them and stop by to see if there is any extra treat for them. I’ve been rewarding them with a bit more scratch & stuff when I see them.
Tomorrow night is soccer practice. Bobby’s mother got his soccer socks ready for him – he pulled a lot of elastic threads out of the top to make them looser and thereby more comfortable.
Here’s the stock market news for today:

The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures continue to show significant volatility, reflecting ongoing market uncertainty. As of Monday evening, futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average have jumped 366 points, or about 1%, following a turbulent trading day. Earlier in the day, the Dow experienced its largest intraday point swing ever, falling more than 1,700 points before recovering by 2,595 points. The index ultimately closed 349 points lower, marking a 0.91% decline.
This volatility is largely driven by concerns over President Trump’s newly announced tariffs, which have sparked fears of a global recession. The tariffs include levies of 20% on imports from the European Union, 26% on Japanese imports, and 34% on imports from China, with retaliatory measures expected from affected countries. Investors are closely monitoring economic indicators and policy announcements for signs of stability.
