Day #5609 – (Thu., May 15, 2025) – Chicken Play Area!
Yesterday I put a pile of lawn mower clippings in the chicken coop and had a trail of mealworms and scratch leading up to it. Take a look at what greet me this morning (see photo to the right). The chickens (or perhaps only the hen) had a wonderful time scurrying the clippings all over the place looking for tasty morsels. You can see the rooster peaking his head out of the coop in the bottom photo, so perhaps it was the hen who did all this work…
Both kids were well enough to go to school today, although Katie did have a late start…
Barney the cat made an appearance at the house today. I don’t see him at the barn anymore… I guess he figures that there are no more mice or rats here to make it worth his while…
As mentioned yesterday Bobby’s class had a field trip to “The Big House” today. He said “I respected their culture, but didn’t like it too much. I couldn’t understand the language and couldn’t hear anything anyway through all the drumming“. Honest reply… Give him credit for that!
Both kids had their virtual viola/violin classes with Daisy this evening. Katie is enjoying the viola more and more each day. She really likes the fact that Daisy doesn’t require a performance at the end of each book.
