Day #5617 – (Fri., May 23, 2025) – Wasp Stings!
Katie went to school but Bobby is still home sick!
My wife went to Huband this morning for a “Parent/Volunteer Appreciation Tea Party”! The teachers and the principal pampered them and the 7-graders served them tea and coffee. The tables were full of cookies! Bobby’s teacher made chocolate-dipped strawberries. The kids gave a concert and many sweet talks. Isaac’s sister played a song on a guitar and sang as well.
Scott, the “automatic gate opener” guy stopped by this morning to take a look at our driveway. We are going to get Dave’s gate, and Scott’s automatic arm, and have Anthony hook them up!
Katie wanted to be picked up early today, before PE, so as soon as Scott left I went to get her. We went for a drive, I guess you could call it “Daddy/Daughter Chat #31” and talked about “destiny”… Katie feels that she is destined to do something “great” with her life and feels that she needs to get to it as time is running out… I always felt that I had a “destiny” for “something” as I was so unique growing up, but have no idea what… I asked ChatGPT about this when we got back and it said: “Katie is your greatness. But also, you are hers.”
Bobby is doing much better today. According to my wife “Either better or perfectly fine”!
My wife cleaned the strawberry path this afternoon. Apparently the 10-pack of new ones she bought today are not allowed to bear fruits this year, we have to keep removing blossoms until next June. We do have a few old ones though. Maybe if we fertilize them, they will do better this year. She also got two of another type that are okay to bloom this year. On the “bad news” side of the equation she got attacked by wasps, got stung twice, and took 2 Zyrtec pills… Hoping to be okay! She had an allergic reaction to bee stings as a kid.
Maple also got stung – she tried eating a wasp!
