Day #5624 – (Fri., May 30, 2025) – Summer-Berry Lemonade Refresher

I picked up Bobby at Huband this afternoon. He was let out 10 minutes early, so he was waiting when I arrived. He said something happened at school today. I thought it might have been an incident, but he was referring to the fact that he wore his sister’s shirt to school by mistake.
Katie wanted to come home early today as she was in science class doing her English poster and was about to finish. My wife went to get her.
I took Katie on a drive this evening for Daddy/Daughter Day #159! We left at 7:30 pm so that we could get to Starbucks before it closed at 8 pm. Katie got the “Summer-Berry Lemonade Refresher” (see photo to the right), something that she as been waiting for since our drive to Courtenay last year!
We talked about the SAT and I told her that there was probably no better use of her time right now than to study and ACE this exam. Even if they don’t require it here in Canada, what you are learning is what they are looking for. She plans to do a few questions each day, and since she is 15 years old, she has 3 years to prepare and ACE it!
When I came home the rooster went crazy! He ran out of the coop like a lunatic and ran back into the wood clucking like crazy. It was dark so my wife went and found him near the compost heap and brought him back. There was a wound on his back, so an eagle (or something) tried to nab him again. Poor thing! No wonder he is traumatized!
