Bobby went on a Huband “field trip” today! You can see them lining up to take the bus for an adventure module of outdoor education at Camp Bob at Roberts Lake (see photo to the left).
Katie wanted to be picked up early today. She was in science class and once she realized that they weren’t going to do anything new, but “regurgitate” the old stuff, I came to pick her up after noon.
Apparently this is the last week for Bobby’s soccer, but he will be so tired when he gets home he won’t be able to go… 🙂 (turns out this was a true prediction).

Those ketchup and sour cream and onion chips that have been laying around the house “forever”? (who likes these flavors anyway?). Well, I soaked them in water to get all the spices off them, drained them, and added chia seeds on top, air fried it and “voila”! Chicken Cake! (see photo to the right).
The hen has stopped laying eggs for some reason…Also, ever since my wife picked up that rooster he’s been TOTALLY back to his old self! He comes to greet me and not a care in the world!!! My wife thinks that maybe it’s because I’m keeping them inside for now, but even when I did shut the gate he would just sit inside the coop and stare at the walls.
Katie’s “mock essay”, which she came up with in two minutes: “I started playing viola not when I was 3, like the stories I heard, but when I was 11. 7 years of missing time, missing hours I could be practicing. This haunted me! This fear that I missed out; that it’s too late. Now I realize that it’s not about the amount of time I’ve known my viola, but the amount of time I’ve spent with it pressed to my chin. What counts are the hours I spend scrutinizing the black dots across the page, not the hours for which I’ve known they existed“.
