Day #5632 – (Sat., June 7, 2025) – Card For Brodie!
Bobby was thinking of going to his last soccer game this morning but wanted to wait till after breakfast to decide. In the end he decided that his legs were still too sore, so no soccer today.
Katie and I went for a drive this afternoon, effectively Daddy/Daughter Chat #34. We stopped off at Starbucks so she could grab a drink. I took the opportunity to pick up an Americano with a splash of almond milk as well.
I was able to get an incredibly close shot of a deer during our drive (see photo to the left). They seem to have no fear of people around here. At one point we saw a bunny sunning itself on the side of the road!
Katie is freaking out a bit about not being good enough to get into Yale. I told her that this is normal with any lofty goals, but she’s navigating it beautifully. You area elated one day, and then freaked out the next. The next time you get less elated, and less freaked out, and eventually you get into a rhythm. As long as she doesn’t let it derail her, but can use it as fuel moving forward, success is assured. Will she get into Yale? Who knows… but all this effort will surely pay off handsomely in the end.
Bobby made a great card for Brodie today (see photo to the right). He is going over to his place tomorrow to celebrate Brodie’s birthday. They told the kids to bring their swimsuits. Bobby says that Brodie is his best friend, but doesn’t think that Brodie necessarily feels the same way. I guess that Brodie is very popular.
Katie got an SAT Math book in the mail today.
Bobby played with Ethan all day. Katie is constantly yelling at him to keep his voice down, but that’s quite a challenge for him I guess.
My wife found someone in Vilnius who will lend Katie their viola while she is there.
