Bobby went to school today but Katie said she had nothing to do so she decided to stay at home. I’m not sure why the school system here in Courtenay is not as challenging as it was in Truro when I was growing up. My wife says that she is reading online that they have declined over the years. Maybe Katie is just exceptional?

My wife wanted to go for a drive to talk about being laid off by Dominic, her boss. Dominic wanted to keep her, but the new boss, didn’t want to hire anyone remotely from Canada. They are having funding cuts so that was another issue in letting her go. We talked about various options and one that my wife likes the most right now is a job for a PhD Biostatistician to train AI models. I tell her that this time period reminds me of the dawn of the internet, and a lot of people got into programming at that time because there were not enough programmers to fulfill the demand. She might find that teaching AI models is the same, and this might actually work out as a raise for her…
I looked out onto the lawn of the “Barn Suite” and guess what was on the newly mowed lawns of my paddock? A deer (see photo to the left). Enjoying himself and not a care in the world. We’re going to have to deal with this issue once the gate is up, but for now, since it’s only grass, we let him be. Another option was to let Maple out and scare it off.
I set the combination lock for Bobby’s bike to #4014, the last four digits of my wife’s phone number. Bobby knows this number as he calls it from Huband when he wants to come home. I need to teach him my number next.
I see that there is a “Yale Club of British Columbia”! I sent Katie the link!
