While the kids slept my wife went to a nearby grocery store for supplies. Later that morning, once the kids were up (Bobby slept for 12+ hours, but Katie much less), they took an Uber to see the kid’s grandfather! My wife got him a nice tablet holder that makes it easier for him now that he’s paralyzed below the waist. She also picked up a kiddie’s pillow for him.
The kid’s grandmother came back to their place and hung out in air conditioned room until 6 pm when they took a walk to a restaurant for their 7:00 dinner. It’s only a 11 minute walk, but they took their time exploring the sites and markets. The kids each got 110 euros which translates into 160 Canadian dollars from their grandmother, but didn’t buy anything.

You can see them all eating dinner at a local restaurant, Bernelių Užeiga in the photo to the left. It shows the kid’s grandmother and her sister Elena. They got to meet my wife’s cousin Rūta, her husband Egidijus, and daughter Viktorija. The kids got a chance to try local Lithuanian food but didn’t care for it much. Katie was nervous and didn’t eat much, which concerned her grandmother. My wife picked up the bill and the feast (including a ton of appetizers that they brought home) cost only 140 euros!!!!
The temperature in Lithuania is going to be hot! 27 degrees today and 30 degrees tomorrow! It’s also going to be hot here in the Comox Valley. I don’t see rain on the horizon for 10+ days. A lot of watering…
