Day #5849 – (Sat., Jan. 10, 2026) – The Opera At Landmark!

My wife went to the Real Canadian Superstore this morning for groceries. In the Comox Valley it appears that Costco is the cheapest, if you want to buy groceries in “bulk” that is. Other than that, it’s a toss up between the Real Canadian Superstore and Walmart. Thrifty’s and Quality Foods are more “high end” (or “expensive” depending how you want to characterize it).

Carolyn went to see the opera which is being streamed at Landmark Cinemas today. As a result, we “babysat” Mishka (see photo to the right). Bobby helped my wife her into our house as he didn’t want to go. Carolyn said that she also is having a hard time getting him in, he wants to be outside.

My wife will be going to see the March 21’st streaming opera as Carolyn can’t make it and passed on her ticket. The plan was to stop by after the show this afternoon so my wife could meet Carolyn’s doctor friend who will be sitting next to her at the showing, but it was not to be.

Bobby spent quite a bit of time online with Ethan today. They usually play two things, Minecraft and Gorilla Tag. Ethan doesn’t like Roblox.

Bobby (and Katie too) think my wife spends too much time with the chickens. My wife suggested that Bobby come and help her take care of them. Not a very enthusiastic response to that request.

I drove out to Benino’s in Comox this afternoon and took pictures of their Comoxopoly game, the only one I have ever seen in real life. We are thinking of developing a similar game now that we have a 3d printer to go with our color paper printer.

Katie and I went for a drive this evening. Katie got an ice latte, and a cake pop, and oh “don’t forget the straw”.

Katie did a lot on her VMUN position paper this evening so it looks like tomorrow will not be as tough homework wise as she had thought. Batman helped her finish her science work as well!
