Bobby went to school today but Katie stayed home. I picked up Bobby at 2:30 pm at Huband. I was thinking of taking him to Poke Page for a boba tea but he wasn’t feeling well and wanted to go home. He said that he doesn’t really want to do anything after school but prefers outings on the weekend.
The hens started laying eggs today! My wife found two eggs in the nesting boxes and two eggs on the coop floor yesterday. She found one egg in the nesting box today. We are not sure which hens are laying. My wife thinks that the young Hmongs/Jersey Giant mixes are laying on the floor as she noticed them wondering around.
This morning my wife was on phone with her parents when she approached the barn to let the chickens out. They all got to hear our rooster’s first crow! Her mom said he sounded like a cat. He’ll learn. We’ll have to adjust the feed as only the rooster will need the grower feed. They always have access to oyster shells for calcium. For some reason they acted weird today – they didn’t want to get out when my wife opened the door.
Katie worked very hard on her math worksheets today. In the afternoon Katie and my wife and Maple went for a walk. On the way back they let the chickens out to free roam a bit.
We heard back from Amy, Katie’s new therapist. She wants us to meet her tomorrow before taking Katie on as a client so we can “speak more frankly”.
