Day #5876 – (Fri., Feb. 6, 2026) – Gilligan’s Island

My wife took Bobby to a curling event at Huband (see photo to the left). I was slated to take Katie to Vanier but she decided to skip guitar class and went to school later in the day. Incidentally, she is still “sick and recovering” and has been since last weekend. If she is still sick by the end of this weekend my wife plans to take her to see our new family doctor!

After school today I took Bobby out Daddy/Son Chat #29! This included boba tea and he also wanted to go to McDonalds for an ice cream cone beforehand (see photo to the right).

We talked about today’s curling experience. Bobby said he had fun, but doesn’t plan to pursue curling as a hobby. He told me that his two favorite sports are soccer and basketball. We made tentative plans to see the movie “GOAT”, which will be out soon.

Bobby picked up a honeydew boba, we bought Katie a taro boba, and I tried out a coconut boba. My coconut boba started off a conversation about Gilligan’s Island, a popular sitcom when I was Bobby’s age. I told him that it involved these castaways trying to get off the island and Gilligan always ruining it in some way. Since they were on a tropical island they ate a lot of coconuts, and a lot of the things that they used in their daily lives were made from coconuts. Seeing this show in the dead of Nova Scotia winters is probably one of the reasons I love coconut so much.

On the drive home we made tentative plans on what game we will be building with our 3D Printer and Color Printer. I suggested we just make a version of the Comoxopoly game we played at Benino’s, but he wanted to do something completely different.
