Day #5922 – (Tue., Mar. 24, 2026) – Bobby Bangs His Thumb!

Kristina was planning on coming skiing today but she had heart problems and decided to stay at home. We have a clean home in preparation for her arrival (see photo to the right). It didn’t take long for it to look “lived in” again! We were thinking of getting a DQ birthday cake for her, but now that she is not coming, no need…

Down in Duncan this is the second day of work for my wife at her new job. She went out to the “Shipyard”, a local Duncan restaurant”, for a meal.

My wife said: “I can’t shake off the feeling how similar this job feels to working with Jeannette. I spent two days meeting sooo many people! This morning I was invited to a meeting of all leaders of local healthcare system – hospital director, urgent care director, leaders of home care, indigenous health centres, etc. They treat me like royalty 😂 I’m just trying to learn the names, who is who and whom to ask questions. Yesterday I had a tour of all departments in the building. The largest part of my work will be evaluating quality and safety of moving to the new hospital in a year. Next week we are touring it in person! Today I’ve been running into people I’ve met yesterday and everyone asked me how my first day went. I finally had a chance today to look at the available reports to see what we can use. I’m too used to have raw data instead of fishing out information from summary tables 😂

Bobby hit his thumb on his bedroom door playing VR this evening.  We thought we might have to take him to Urgent Care or the Emergency Room, but he was able to move it after a while.  Katie and I went out to get Wendy’s for him and us and ate it in the living room in front of the television. Katie had a Dave’s Single Combo, Bobby had a kid’s meal, and I had their Baconator Combo!

We had a lot of “fun” with Bobby telling him that we were going to watch some horror movies on YouTube about “Doors”…
