Day #5923 – (Wed., Mar. 25, 2026) – Fabricland!

Bobby’s thumb is much better this morning. No need to go to Urgent Care! No need to go to the Emergency Room! Most importantly of all, as he would tell you, he is able to continue playing his video games and watch YouTube! Crisis averted!

This afternoon I took Katie to Fabricland in Courtenay off Cliffe Avenue (see photo to the right). She is looking for material for a tube shirt. We came there just before closing (man these stores in the Comox Valley close early!) but she got a chance to see what is available.

On the drive home we stopped off at the Dairy Queen drive thru to get a chocolate dipped cone. Katie was saying how much she missed these cones from McDonalds when they used to sell them. She didn’t realize that DQ was an option…but now she does!

This evening the kids came up with this idea for a YouTube channel where I would react to various online games like Minecraft and “Poppy’s Playtime”. They tell me that reaction videos of older parents to these games are quite a hit in YouTube, and since I know so little about them, it’s a “no brainer”. I told them that if they create the channel, figure out what to say, and edit the videos, I will show up to provide them with the content. Let’s see if this idea has any legs. It might lead to some marketing knowledge for Katie or even a few $$$ if it really takes off!

My wife called from Duncan this evening. She will be home tomorrow night. It looks like she will have to go back to Duncan to work next Wednesday and Thursday, but will have the next five days off.

Down in Duncan my wife ate at a “cheap” Mexican restaurant tonight where they served her water in a styrofoam bowl?
