I took Bobby to the Landmark Cinemas this afternoon to see “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (2026)” (see photo to the right). This was effectively Daddy/Son Day #104!
On the drive to Landmark we talked about Elvis and how he used to rent out whole theaters because he didn’t want to be bothered by fans. I told Bobby that he had his housekeeper always keep 2 lbs. of cooked bacon in a basket on the piano as he liked to munch on it while playing. I also mentioned how I was in his actual mansion, Graceland, and that’s it’s not that much bigger than our house. We talked a bit about the “Jungle Room” where he used to hang out with family and friends.
At Landmark we had a 3d showing in the large cinema room. I bought Bobby a large combo, so he had a large popcorn and large strawberry Fruitopia, with Twizzlers. This gives him the option of free popcorn and drink refills, and I went up to get a free refill of popcorn about 1/2 way through the movie as I ate a lot of it… 🙂
Carolyn gave us some ashes for the chickens. Nishka, her dog, came with her to see us today.
