I took Katie to see the dentist this morning. She couldn’t sleep and was up early eating breakfast! She was at the dentist’s office for about an hour. I waited in the lobby reading my Kindle book about “Keith Moon”. Afterward we learned that dental insurance will not cover teeth whitening. When the appointment was over I drove Katie home.
Bobby has no fever this morning. He even felt well enough to play a bit of pool this evening with Katie and I. We tried out a new game in which we all take turns and try to get the balls in, whether striped or solid, BUT NOT the 8 ball. After all the balls but the 8 ball are gone, the person who is able to call the pocket they plan to shoot the 8 ball into, and actually do it, wins the game. A slight variation on 8 ball, but fun. On the way to the dentist’s office Katie and I talked about Jax and Katie was saying that she was interested in getting together with him, other than swimming, before he left to University. She asked me what I thought. I said that even if you don’t get a chance to get together, I’m sure that he would be happy to know that you cared about him so much as to at least reach out. If in doubt I told Katie she should put herself in the other person’s shoes… How would you feel if he reached out to you in this way? Well, she contacted him and he was elated. They plan to get together later on this week, in fact, hang out at Starbucks the morning of his surprise party. It will be sad for Katie to see Jax go, but hopefully she will meet more friends in Model UN this year.
