Day #1040 (Thu., Nov. 8, 2012) – The Day With Daddy
My wife wanted to take a class at work today, so with Christina not working for us anymore, and Rebecca starting tomorrow, we had to find a babysitter solution for Katie. We decided that I would take the day off work and take care of her.
Since it was rather cold outside this morning I thought I would take Katie to Chuck E. Cheese’s. She always likes it there and I don’t have to worry about her running off so much. Of course we had to watch “The Monster Mash” quite a few times before we got going this morning.
On the drive over I got the bright idea that I would take Katie to Sam’s Club for a bit. It has a huge place where she can run around and get some exercise, but she was not having anything to do with it. When I drove up into the parking lot and told her where she was she said she wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese’s…so off we went…
While at Chuck E. Cheese’s we did the regular tour of the various games. You can see her golden hair locks in the window behind the animal game in the picture to the left. One thing that was different in today’s visit was that she wanted to see the automated band a bit more…so I pulled out a couple of chairs in front of them and we sat down as they played away.
On the way home we stopped off at Wholefoods for a box of goat’s milk. Katie dropped her cup of juice on the way to the store and started to cry so I had to console her. She is very sensitive about dropping liquids these days…I wonder if this goes back to the time she dropped it at Trader Joe’s and that clerk made such an “animated deal” about it?
When we got home I gave Katie a hot dog and various other foods to munch on. She went to bed a little after 1pm for her nap. Daddy went for a nap soon after. My wife got back from the class about 2pm.
This evening I showed Katie on YouTube some of the cartoon shows I watched growing up, like “The Archies”, “The Jackson 5” and “Josie And The Pussycats”.
