2013-02-06 – Matching Babies To Mommies

After last nights festivities we were wondering how Katie would fair in school today. Well, my wife woke her up at 8:30am, so that means she had about 9 hours of sleep. We were able to dress her with relatively little drama (but she did need to see a bit of “The Man Falling Into The Water” to help calm her down). My wife and I both had to go to work, but my wife said that if the teacher calls like she did a few weeks ago she would be able to leave and go get Katie. I offered to do this as well, but it looks like my wife is going to take care of it, so I’m the “backup plan”.

When I got home from work this evening Katie didn’t rush to the door to greet me as she usually does. Why? She was sitting in her LazyBoy, watching cartoons, and eating “pink ice cream” (raspberry sherbert to be more exact). Even daddy plays second fiddle to “pink ice cream”.

Katie made the card arrangement you see in the photo to the left. She matched “mommies” with “babies”.

I was exhausted tonight so I went to bed rather early. This tends to be a good idea in many ways for the simple reason that if Katie will not sleep I will be able to take the “second shift” and let my wife go to bed. We are effectively “tag teaming” our time as there are two of us to one of Katie. Katie can’t stay up indefinitely…or can she?

WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
