There is this mysterious garden vegetable/fruit that is dropping out of Jui-Lan’s garden (see photo to the left). We wonder what it is and why the deer have not eaten it.
On the drive to Glenwood this morning I mentioned to Katie that once Miss Laura teaches her some Christmas songs I will be able to play along with her on the guitar. I asked her if she wanted to give a little concert for Christmas and she was not interested at all. She did agree to play for my wife and Bobby. I took this opportunity to tell her that even the most seasoned performer used to be afraid of playing or singing or dancing in public. The key is that they “felt the fear” and yet did it anyway. I told her that one of the most important lessons that she could learn is to not fear failing. We all fail, and the key is to keep going til you succeed.
I got home shortly after 5pm today so that my wife could go to Curriculum Night at Katie’s school. It was hard for Karen to leave the house as Bobby was crying and crying. In the end Katie, Bobby & I snuggled up in the bedroom to watch cartoons til Bobby calmed down.
My wife met Katie’s French teacher tonight along with the new principal. The new principal has a totally different personality to the old one.
This evening Bobby tried to push Katie out of the LazyBoy and she was having nothing of it. My wife gave Bobby a bit of her peanut butter & jelly sandwich and put him in the adjoining char and he seemed to be fine with that. I asked Katie if she wanted to add some bacon and banana to her sandwich and make an “Elvis”. She asked who Elvis was. It’s funny how time moves on and those who were once so domineering and popular in their industry are relegated to a Wikipedia entry…
While my wife put Katie to bed this evening I played a game of “Peek-A-Boo” with Bobby by pulling my t-shirt over my head and letting him pull it back off.
