Day #2615 (Thu., Mar. 2, 2017) – Iron Man Doll

2017-03-02 - Iron ManOn the way to Glenwood this morning I told Katie a phrase that she should remember. “If you don’t know where you are going you shall surely arrive”. This lead to the importance of setting goals for yourself each day. I suggested that she set a goal of learning a new Chinese word each day. She said that her teacher showed her how to do a new “slant” each day…I’m assuming that is some sort of a Chinese character.

Katie also asked me if I knew what “spoons” were. I said, “Like the type you eat your cereal with”? She said, no, but I guess that the students in the class will get a picture of a spoon when they are good in class. At the end of the year, the various classes tally up the number of spoons they got and the lucky class will get a picture of a bowl with spoons in it. Some sort of a Chinese soup…

This evening I gave Bobby the Iron Man doll (see photo to the right) that my wife bought a while back. I think it’s a good idea to give gifts from time-to-time rather than all at once so that they really do become a treat. Later in the evening, I asked him if he wanted to take Iron Man to bed with him and he seemed really excited about this.
