Day #3024 (Tue., Apr. 17, 2018) – Bobby’s Interest In Keys

2016-04-18 - Sam's ClubI thought I would start off today’s post by sharing a photo I took of the Sam’s Club checkout area yesterday (see photo to the left). Everyone is navigating towards the self-checkout machines (in the yellow circle), while the manned checkouts are practically empty.

Katie is totally into her video games on my wife’s iPhone these days. She told me that one involves cheetahs.

Bobby has started to bring my keys to me and ask what each one of them is for. I’m sure that this is just not “casual information” as far as he is concerned. He wants to know what key to try out next.

At work today, HR handed out letters indicating our severance package for our August 2nd termination. I feel sorry for all the Indians I work with. The company was doing a Green Card for them and if they don’t get sponsorship they will have to go back to India. So sad…

They had a going away party for Katie this evening. She is leaving to go work for Pearson. I went to the celebration for a couple of hours, then left. Gregg paid the bill, which was nice.

My wife sent out an email about the Mandarin Chinese program on behalf of the room parents this evening. It read:

Dear MDL parents,

It was brought to our attention that the MDL teachers, especially the Chinese teachers are under a lot of stress after the past few meetings where the conflicts have surfaced. We would like to share with you our concern that if these teachers decide to leave, we will not have an MDL program!!!

We would like to ask everyone to show support for our teachers.

On Thursday, April 19th, please ask your child to bring a flower and a card or some small gifts (a fruit, some chocolate, etc for each teacher at his/her class (including the TAs and Specials if you know the specials support MDL). If you have other gifts, send along. It would work best if you arranged these materials on Wednesday evening and get them ready on Thursday morning. Also ask your kid to write on the card and show appreciation, if possible.

Sincerely,
MDL room parents
