Day #4554 (Sat., Jun. 25, 2022) – Portable Record Player

Yesterday, the Supreme Court handed down a decision that threw out the Roe vs. Wade ruling from 1973.  I remember what a landmark decision it was back in the day…  It’s been around for most of my life.

The kids had viola/violin class today. Both kids behaved, so they got to play on their iPads for the day.

When they returned I called them to the living room to show them the new portable record player that I just got from eBay (see photo to the left).  I played them “Snowbird” by Anne Murray and we talked a bit about the mechanics of how 45 RPM records worked.  I went into details on how this was the way we listened to music back in the day.  I’m not sure if they realize how easily accessible movies and music and tv shows are now as opposed to the way things were back in the 1960s and 1970s.

I went to Harris-Teeter for groceries this afternoon.  We are always out of milk, but I got some frozen treats for the kids as well.
