Day #4567 (Fri., July 8, 2022) – “Bumperless” Van

My wife had a dentist appointment this morning and as she was going to the van she noticed that the bumper fell off.  Not sure why?  Did a tree strike it in the night?  At any rate, it looks like the pins that hold it in place have broke.  I snapped it back into place, put some duct tape on it, and it’s good to go…at least good enough to take to the shop and get the bumper attached.

We didn’t go swimming this afternoon as it’s kind of rainy and gloomy outside.  There is always next week.

It’s hard to figure out what the kids will eat and won’t eat.  Bobby got into the bananas that I bought at the grocery store yesterday (see photo to the left).

This afternoon I had Daddy/Son Day #51 with Bobby.  He wanted to go to the backyard pool and his sister and mother were busy, so I went.  Before this I asked him if he wanted to go to the Dollar Store and pick up some squirt guns, so off we went.  The battery on my car (or something) has died, so we had to take the van.  At the “Dollar Store” we picked up four squirt guns and a couple of packages of “Air Heads”.  Alas, the “Dollar Store” is no more…it’s called “Dollar Plus”, and these items cost us close to $20.  No worries, Bobby and I had fun in the pool this afternoon playing with them.  When mom and sis appeared in the living room window we enjoyed spraying water at them with our “super blasters”.

Another “plus” this afternoon was that I duct taped some of the foam water noodle onto the bottom of the folding chair.  Now it can sit in the pool without fear of tearing the lining.
