Day #5152 (Tue., Feb. 13, 2024) – Small Cakes
Bobby is home sick from school today. Katie went to school though.
I picked Katie up at school this afternoon and we drove to McDonald’s in Durham (near where CiCi used to work), and this effectively became Daddy/Daughter Day #143. She had an ice cream and a McDouble, and we drove by the little cake shop where she used to get cupcakes as a little girl (see photo to the right). I remember he taking her little card out for a “mark”. Only 10 “marks” and you get a free cupcake. We stopped going there just before the pandemic, when we stopped going practically everywhere. It was nice to see it’s still up and running.
This evening my wife went to the East Chapel Hill High School for a meeting. Katie has to pick her high school classes by March, which is only a couple of weeks away.
Batman has become more daring as of late. She will wait to hear that Maple is not around and then make a mad dash from the basement to the top of the cat tree to enjoy the view!
I had to go to Aldi this evening for milk, and while I was there I picked up four large milk chocolate bars for Bobby’s teachers (see photo to the left). He will be handing out these bars to his teachers (including Ms. Wolk, his teacher last year), along with Valentine’s Day gifts to his classmates tomorrow… Valentine’s Day!
Bobby had a nap this afternoon, so it was hard to put him to bed this evening.
