I took Bobby to see the Minecraft movie at Landmark Cinemas in Courtenay this afternoon (see photo to the right) for Daddy/Son Day #92. I was able to get last minute tickets at the only showing for today that had two seats together. They were in the front row, right side, and the movie was 3D, which meant we got glasses as soon as we showed the attendant our tickets.
For snacks Bobby opted for the large popcorn special, which means we were able to get free refills, but the large was filling enough for him without any refills. We took the remainder of the bag home in case Katie might want it. Bobby had some sour gummies and I picked up a package of nibs to nibble on as well.
After the movie we stopped off at Edward & Parnell to get a couple of haircuts but they were booked up. We took a chance at the Nomads Barbershop near the 5th Street Bridge and Daniel, who was originally from Guatamala, gave us each a cut. $35 each, without a tip, so it wasn’t cheap.
After haircuts Bobby and I stopped off at the Blue Spruce Ice Cream Parlor next door where Bobby got a mint chocolate chip waffle cone and I picked up a toasted coconut waffle cone. Delish. Bobby told me that he loved mint chocolate chip ever since I used to get those “Leprechaun Cones” at Aldi.
On the way home we met my wife driving the van back from the Barn Suite. Katie and her had just taken the red drywall hoister to the old barn as it was cluttering up the patio.
