Day #5580 – (Wed., Apr. 16, 2025) – Vanier Skating Class!

While I was at Walmart yesterday to pick up my $99 office chair, I noticed the assortment of potato chips that you see to your right. If you notice closely, there are no ketchup chips. The kids hate ketchup chips and for some reason they seem to come in almost all the bundles of chips we see here in the Comox Valley. Perhaps this is Canada wide! Perhaps other kids love ketchup chips! Ours do not! This is definitely something to remember moving forward if the kids ever decide that they want an assortment of potato chips. Perhaps to hand out for Halloween this year? Unfortunately I don’t think Lay’s or Doritos or Ruffles or Cheetos are Canadian brands. Perhaps why there is no ketchup chips in the assortment… 🙂

I fought with ETrade all day trying to get money from my ROTH to my checking account. They sure don’t make the process simple. I think I will let this current “upload form” run it’s course and transfer everything to Fidelity. Fidelity has a branch office in Canada and this makes things so much easier to deal with.

Katie went skating at school today! There is a rink right next door to Vanier. She skated one loop and then went out onto the turf to play with her friend Emma. Emma broke her legs on ice and later her nose… so she has severe “Skating Anxiety”. She loves sports otherwise though and even teaches kids to play rugby. Her brother is on the Vanier Senior Boy’s Rugby Team, which is in Florida right now.

I picked up Katie and Bobby after school today. Bobby wants to have an Easter egg hunt on the property this year, so I will need to go get supplies for that. Katie offered to help organizing this for me.

My wife took Bobby to the doctor this evening and he thinks that Bobby might have “mono”, the kissing disease! My wife has scheduled a lab appointment for him tomorrow morning so I will be taking Katie to school.
