Both kids went to school today. I picked up Bobby at Huband at 2:30pm, as per norm. He and I plan to play some chess this weekend and he seemed quite excited about that. He told me that Ethan is better than him, but he has beaten him a couple of times. I think we’ll play a bit and then I’ll offer to show him a thing or two if he wants. I plan to stop off at Thrifty’s beforehand to pick up one of their parfaits, which he really likes.
After picking Katie up we went to Shar-Kare to get their advice on our “terrified” rooster, who refuses to leave the coop. They suggested I get some mealworms (see photo to the right) to coax him out of the coop. When I went to give some to him I saw that he was out wandering around the barn. This is a good sign. I left the door to the coop open in hopes that he would leave, which he did.
I started to feed the rooster and hen some mealworms and they gobbled them up. The rooster even left the barn for a bit, but soon scurried back. Oh well, at least some progress was made.
The kids had viola/violin class tonight. Great lesson! Katie said she’s excited about lessons now and actually looking forward to them. It’s not a chore anymore.
With only 7 weeks left until summer, Daisy was hesitant to start a new song with Bobby, but asked my wife’s opinion. She mentioned that Bobby has incredible memory and didn’t think he would forget during the summer what he learned. So she started teaching him Minuet 3 and was shocked how fast he’s learning. Recital on Daisy’s lawn on June 21st.
We talked to Katie about having Daisy be added to our will now that we are not in the US. Arnesa is currently on our will, but since we are no longer in the US, it makes things a bit difficult. My wife emailed Daisy regarding this, no response yet.
