Both kids are home sick today!
I went to Rexall across the bridge in Courtenay to get a COVID shot this morning. It is one of the only places around that lets you just show up and get a shot. Costco and others make you sign up for an appointment. While there I picked up some Robitussin (see photo to the right) as Katie has quite the cough!
My wife took Bobby to Urgent Care for a checkup today. The doctor didn’t see anything bad, but his lymph nodes are huge and painful so he’s obviously fighting off something. It would be horrible for him to miss school tomorrow as his class is going to “The Big House“. Here’s the blurb: “Grade 4 students in SD71 will have the amazing opportunity to witness Big House traditions with Andy Everson and the Kumugwe Dancers“.

Katie wanted to get out this afternoon so my wife took her for a drive.
I did a bit of “weed wacking” and lawn mowing today. I was curious about what the little tree at the bottom left in the photo to the left was, so I texted Marilyn. She said that it is a “Rose of Sharon”, a type of hibiscus tree that can grow here in the Comox Valley.
I put some of the mower clippings into the coop and some “Mealworms & Scratch” inside the pile and leading up to it… The chickens should love playing in it tomorrow… Or at least the hen will. It might even be fun enough that Valentine the Rooster will make an appearance!
