Day #5649 – (Tue., June 24, 2025) – Pizzas To Huband!

Mr. Valentine, the rooster, didn’t come home last night. I thought I heard him in the middle of the night but my wife didn’t see him when she checked the coop this morning. Low and behold, just before I went to pick up Bobby at school, Mr. Valentine appeared! We thought the eagle or weasel had gotten him. Low and behold, he survived! He must have been hiding in the garage.

Katie, who is off school, helped her mother take three pizzas to Bobby’s class at Huband this morning (see photo to the left).

I picked up Bobby at 2:30 pm and was he ever tired. He said that today’s bike trail was very rocky and he had to get off and walk a lot of it. He mentioned that people said that they liked his new haircut, but they were just possibly being nice. He said that Daniel didn’t give him as nice a haircut this time as he did last time. We’re thinking of going back to our regular stylist, Cassie, who charges $25 per haircut as opposed to $40 at Nomad’s. Hard to believe that I used to get a haircut for $2 when I was a kid… 😉

For some reason one of the posts to our new gate is larger than the other ones. This might be because they hit a stone when putting it in place. I suspect that they will trim it off once the gate goes on.

The deer are still getting onto our property and eating grass in our pasture area. My wife pulled up the netting at the back of the property (see photo to the right). Hopefully this will prevent them from entering!

I took Katie out to the Real Canadian Superstore this evening as we are out of groceries. She basically did the shopping and I pushed the cart.

On the drive we got talking about business and Katie was saying how she wanted to sell something. I suggested Cricut designs, but something that nobody is selling. After getting home I did some research and came up with these ideas:

Katie, just a few thoughts about those Cricut stickers and designs…. I bet nobody is doing very specific stickers on a rooster… barnyard animals, yes… but just roosters? How about the angle where your rooster is your pet? I bet there are kids out there where the kids have a pet rooster… you could draw designs where a young girl is holding a pet rooster with the words I ♥️ you! Beside it! This is the type of specific niche market that is so small none of the big guys are doing it, yet given the millions of people on Etsy you could have a nice little market to sell to…. Or psycho rooster funny Cricut stickers… or stickers of a dog nursing baby kittens with their puppies ( our dog did this). …. Bet there are markets for those and I know you could do wonderful artwork for them… if one particular sticker takes off you could do larger limited edition prints, etc…

Another idea… cricket is a huge sport in the us that nobody knows about… two teams, the Texas Super Kings and the San Francisco Unicorns have nothing on Etsy…..

This evening my wife and I went over the “will documents” that the lawyer sent us. Everything seems in order. The next step is to go and sign it.
