Tonight Katie and I went out for our first drive since she got back from Europe. She’s been recovering from jet lag and the “Europe Bug” that she got, but felt fine enough tonight to go out and drive and talk. We were gone for 3 1/4 hours, certainly the longest drive we have ever been on. First stop? Starbucks! Katie got a “Pink Drink” (see photo to the left), and I picked up “My Ususal” Americano with almond milk.
We talked a lot about Europe and her likes and dislikes. She liked going out on the drive with her Uncle Tomas through London at night. She made an interesting comment: “Night is my favorite time of day”… Quite the play on words. She liked the escargot in Paris and Evelena, Katie’s cousin, insisted that they visit a pastry shop, so she got a taste of that as well.

We drove past McDonald’s and Katie had a “hankering” for one of their cinnamon buns, so we went thru the drive thru. They were out of them, but they offered to bake one if we wanted to wait for 15 minutes, so we left. We ended up at Tim Hortons on Guthrie Road (so much better than the one on Lerwick Road) and Katie picked up a 10 pack of Tim Bits, five chocolate and five strawberry (see photo to the right).
Katie really wants to get tested for autism so I told her to go ahead and get it and I will pay for it. Thanks NVDA!
Katie is going to meet her friends Annika and Madeline at Value Village and they will walk to downtown Courtenay to shop.
Tomorrow the guy will be here to dig the trench for the electrical cable to power the gate’s automatic arm. Anthony, our electrician, will be here to guide him, so I don’t need to meet him, but will go out to say hi nonetheless.
