Our neighbor Carolyn’s dog died today! He was 14 years old…
Katie is all smiles on her technically “First Day of Classes” (see photo to the right)! This was before today’s drama set in… Apparently some girls in math class ignored her and this stressed her out.
This evening my wife helped Katie with her math homework: Exponentials and distributive property. They finished this up and even looked ahead at tomorrow’s work. The math teacher gives the students a plan for the week ahead!
Bobby took his bike to school today. He told me that there were no drama with the new combo lock and it works like a charm. He got “honked” at while riding to school. Apparently nothing too dramatic, just a “toot”. The driver probably wanted Bobby to know that he was there.
At school today Bobby had PE, French, and music. French was taught by Mr. Christensen, and they learned bonjour & bienvenue.
I secured the roosting pole in the coop for Poor ole’ Valentine… It keeps falling off but not anymore! In a few more days hopefully we will have “some ladies” to keep him company.
I was happy to see that Shoppers Drug Mart has a post office that closes at 7 pm! I drove over, but alas, when I swung by, the whole store was closed due to technical difficulties!
Well we learned this evening that Bobby was bullied physically during recess today. Jackson, one of his classmates, shoved him, and he was taken to Principal Wolter’s office, while Bobby went to the front office. Apparently Bobby’s classmates, Taliah and Esca, witnessed this evening, and one of them told someone.
The principal made Jackson write a “Sorry Note” on a sticky note. Not sure what this will do, but I plan to take Bobby out this weekend to discuss bullies and how to deal with them. As when I was growing up in Truro, it was the principal and vice principal who dealt with these sort of issues…not the teachers. Not sure why they didn’t call us though?
Esca went to the front office with Bobby and played LEGOs with him. Bobby said he feels bad that Esca had to see this. It’s almost like he felt guilty to be abused! I keep telling Bobby that whenever he wants to go to Esca’s house I will drive him…. From what I can tell, they are alike…. This is definitely a friendship that I want to encourage…
